JCHC’s Historic Preservation Committee advises JCHC on preservation-related concerns, works with individuals and communities, and organizes an annual county-wide Historic Preservation Symposium. In 2011, our Symposium, held on May 14th at the Westminster City Park Recreation Center, addressed public relations and social media and working with these tools to promote Historic Preservation. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
In conjunction with Jefferson County Planning and Zoning staff, the HP Committee oversees historic resources in unincorporated Jefferson County and promotes community awareness on the importance of recording and preserving these resources.
The committee also maintains an inventory of historic resources and continues to locate and raise awareness on historically significant sites in unincorporated Jefferson County.
In 2010, JCHC launched a new annual Historic Preservation Award, which recognizes extraordinary efforts to protect and restore the historic resources of Jefferson County.
