One of the latest National Register sites in Jefferson County is the Baugh House, at 44th and Robb in Wheat Ridge, designated in 2012.

Owned by the City of Wheat Ridge, and restored using a combination of funding from Jefferson County Open Space, the State Historical Fund, and the Wheat Ridge Historical Society, the building is a “charming farm house” containing an 1859 log cabin believed to be the oldest in the county that is still on its original site.

Future grants will be used to restore the interior of this building, which will be the location of the Wheat Ridge Historical Society’s annual Christmas party.

Congratulations to all involved in this excellent preservation effort!
